Interesting Day

Posted in Politics at 10:46 am by cliffwynne

Now I want to get this disclaimer out the way before I get started on this whee lil rant. I voted for and support our current President on most of his policies the only thing I don’t really agree with him on is raising taxes during a recession and the new healthcare they are trying to push. Anyway let us get to the point of why I created this entry today.

This morning it was announced that President Obama was the recipient of Nobel Peace Prize, the first thought that went through my head was WTF followed by WOW. After the initial shock I tried to call my brother but I guess it was too early so then I called my wife and told her since I know she doesn’t really watch the news and keep up with things. Anyway 5 minutes after getting off the phone with Tanya my brother Nate calls me back and goes WTF is going on, and how did the President win the Nobel Peace Prize.

Now people before you get angry understand where Nate and I are coming from, President Obama just got into office in January and was nominated on Feb 1st for the Nobel Peace prize. Honestly what had he done between Inauguration day and Feb 1 to be even included in the running. Yes he tried to offer an olive branch to the Middle East and bring that area back from out of turmoil but has he really accomplished anything to be awarded a Nobel Peace Prize. I honestly wanted to post my views on facebook and twitter but I was afraid it would not only start a race war but also a political war between democrats and republicans.

Now sit back and think about this we are giving an award to someone that has up till now done little to actually win it. That Ladies and Gentlemen is exactly whats wrong with this generation and the black culture today. Do nothing and win big, work hard and maybe you might get a pat on the back. Yes I know President Obama worked hard to get into the office of the President but ask yourself what did he do in his political career that has allowed him to even win the Nobel Peace Prize.

Kind of a Celebrity

Posted in Politics at 1:53 pm by cliffwynne

Recently I did an internet interview for a show on the current economic and housing state in the U.S. It goes over basically what my family and I are going through.

I find it a little bit difficult to stomach this economic “rescue” plan which has just been passed since its annoucement the DOW has yet to recover and is in fact as of today under 10000 points. Needless to say that when we do sell our house we will hopefully break even but who is to say.

Its funny how the government wants to help those whose homes are being foreclosed on but have no plans to help those of us that are in a tight situation like mine. We havent missed a payment and yet there is no help for us or any of the others that are trying to sell our homes in this horrible market.

I kind of feel sorry for whomever steps into the shoes to be the next President they will have a big hole to fill and they will pretty much be blamed for anything that goes wrong regardless of whether its their fault or the previous 2 administrations.

Keep on fighting Obama

Posted in Politics at 11:44 am by cliffwynne

Some have been viewing the upcoming presidential race as a two person show, mostly between Sen. Hilary Clinton and Rudy Giuliani, and the supposed national polls would have most of America believing that as well.

There are other candidates out there fighting hard to get votes, most notable Barack Obama, who recent statement that he used drugs in high school has people thinking that he was perhaps too honest.

Does anyone honestly believe that former President Clinton never inhaled any of the marijuana that he smoked, isn’t the point of marijuana to inhale. I find it quite refreshing that a candidate can be honest about such a touchy subject as drugs. Everyone at one time in their life has experimented with something that was morally repugnant, like drugs, alcohol, and premarriage sex. Believing that the youth of today isn’t going to try the same thing is borderline ridiculous.

The point of this rant, is that not only should we be honest with our kids but we should look for those who will represent our beliefs and country to be honest as well.
