So after being reassured by our loan officer everything was alright, multiple times. We went ahead and started looking for homes since our lease was coming due soon on our current home. In less than a week we found a home and before I put in a bid, I once again asked the loan officer if we were looking good. He said yes. Well Ladies and Gentlemen less than 24 hours after that discussion our dreams have been put on the back burner, seems the underwriters and the fha have decided that we are not worthy yet to own another home at least until we have been 3 years out of our previous short sale. A short sale mind you that would not have happened if 1) we didnt relocate for a job, 2) housing market took a dump and 3) a massive recession. It took us a year and a half to sell our previous home, a home that honestly we didnt want to get rid of but had to because of my employment situation.

That is the reason myself and our real estate agent repeatedly asked our loan officer if we were ok and we were reassured that we were only to have our dreams crushed. Yes a year isnt that long of a wait but the home we had found was perfect for our family it was only a few miles from where we live and it had enough room for all the kids.

Now I sit here typing this up, in all honesty I dont know why, maybe just to get this off my chest. Perhaps all this was for the better but from where I’m sitting right now its more of the same crap we have had to deal with in the last 3 years.

                          

We all just have to recognize that we are not out of the woods yet and what comes up can come down. Even the safe havens that was real estate became unstable thanks to corporate greed and consumer stupidity. So people pay attention to what your doing and if it sounds too good to be true get it checked and rechecked not just 2 or 3 times but 5 if you have to. It is more important to you and your family that you know what your getting into before you sign away your family’s economic future.

                          

What drives me insane are the speculators that start selling at the drop of a hat, was it really that big of surprise people that the major car companies had a bad year, or that the financial institutions have a large amount of consumers no longer able to pay for their products. It’s not called a recession for nothing but instead of riding the waves we are throwing money and people in trying to rescue everybody under sun. Even those that haven’t asked for a rescue in the past now have their hands out.

Let’s be honest, I mean we are all rationally thinking people, it is going to get a lot worst before it gets better. We are all going to have to tightened up and do the things we should have been doing when the economy was great which is living within our means, stop trying to catch up with the Joneses and get yourself in order. As long as your family has a roof over their heads, 3 square meals a day and your not pulling your hair out who cares wtf everyone else has.
